The Spring 2015 "Street approved" collection

As much as a winter witch that I am, I'm getting enough of the dirty snow around the streets. 
The craving of spring its getting stronger and hopefully in a couple of weeks the sun is going to shine bright and the flowers are going to start to come up. 
For now, here is a collection of the "street approved" ideas from the Spring 2015 RTW.
For those who doesn't have seasons like my lovely Bogota, you can start wearing white T-shirts and flowerful skirts, you lucky bastards.

Chanel putting white dresses and 3d printed flowers on the table. Not sure of the flowers to wear on a daily basis, but a bomber jacket and shift dress could work for a sunny day.

"El que de amarillo se viste a su belleza se atiene" - Wearing yellow might be challenging, its a hard color to wear. Hermes gave us mustard instead of yellow, contrasting it with black and white. Amen to that..

Wearing a white t-shirt will not be a sign that you might stay watching netflix the rest of the weekend, at least not for Michael Kors 

No need to live next to the central park to feel like an uptown girl and be able to go into Bergdorf Goodman. Oscar de la Renta was always inspired by rich girls, we might not be rich but we might have the soul of one

A Saint Laurent way to go back to the disco, with some gold. I turned it down a notch because lets be real, our parties are not even close of a Studio 54 kind of night.

Prints {Style Ideas}

Four great ideas to wear prints: 

Printed shorts.. you can find them in any color, style, fabric and shape, wear it with a plain top, and personally I would wear it with an oversized top, just to give less attention to my hips. And If your are using nude colors why don't you try a bright lipstick.

Shorts estampados: los puedes encontrar en cualquier color, estilo, tela y forma, usalo con un top de un solo color, y personalmente yo usaria un top de silueta amplia, solo para darle menos atencion a mi cadera. Y si estas usando colores   claros porque no intentar un labial de color fuerte. 

I know how frightening mixing prints can be, in some occasions it ends up being a disaster, but this combination of stripes and flowers its a great idea, wear it with neutral accessories.

Yo se que mezclar estampados puede llegar a ser algo muy peligroso, y hasta un desastre, pero esta combinacion de rayas y flores me parece buenisima idea, usalo con accesorios neutros.

prints on prints: if you are going to use a printed top & bottom, try to use one print bigger than the other one, and for a more flattering look, big prints at the top and more neutral prints at the bottom. 

Estampados con estampados: si vas a usar estampados en el top y en la parte de abajo, trata de que uno de los estampados del top sean mas grandes y llamativos que el otro, y para favorecer a la figura es mejor que los estampados del top sean los grandes y llamativos. 

 A flowered dress, I wouldn't say is a must but lets face it, sometimes you want to be as flowerfull as possible,   And for  those surprising chilly days of spring, an ivory light coat .

Un vestido de flores: No es una pieza necesaria para tener, pero hay que aceptarlo, en primavera a veces uno quiere estar lo mas floreado posible, es cuestión de naturaleza, y para esos dias frios que caen de sorpresa, un abrigo de material ligero 

Weekly Inspiration { Detoxifying }

This week I have decided to accept the fact that is spring already here, now is the time to make some changes and clean some mess, so this week is all about cleaning from your inside to everything that goes around you!

1. To start the week there is nothing better that detoxify yourself, and get rid of all that extra sugar you have in your system,thats why I recommend to do this 28 day mind + body Challenge . 

2. Dont forget to exercise at least 10 min every day, some stretching will make the difference of your day, this week try the sun salutation, its simple,fast and well, the bunny makes it look cute.

3. Your hair loose and a little messy, anyway those windy days will make sure to do it for you, let it flow 

4. A clean and minimal room. Get rid of EVERYTHING that you dont need, nothing better that keeping it simple

5. Of course not everything has to go white and light , A Black - A line dress made of a light fabric Its also a spring essential 

And above all those things, remember to be happy!

Time to escape - This week inspiration

My inspiration for this week is escaping mode. 6 things to try this week to escape from your regular days withs simple amazing ideas:

1. A mini road trip on the weekends, the vespa car is a good option, but you can use your regular car

2. If you are not much into going out lets make some revolution in your kitchen, try this No-Bake Greek Yogurt & Berry Cheesecake. Healthy, rich in protein from Barerootgirl.com

3. Go to a museum!, and be inspired by the stories behind great pieces, while you enjoy the silence and peace of the place. 

4. Go for a walk, there's always something amazing around the corner, and while you do that wear a nice pair of t-strap flat, you know , to enjoy the ride.

5. Change your day every day by doing some Morning Yoga Secuence, It will make your day a better day, I'll promise 

6.Stop for a second and enjoy everything is around you, now is the time to escape and to enjoy what life brings to you every day

H&M has a story to tell

H&M is known by their love of cheap fast and useful fashion, having huge stores in most of the biggest cities around the world. Their goal is to spread fashion like a beautiful disease, and every year a famous designer contribute to it. They are also known because everybody goes to the store, and by that I mean from the tourist with short budget that is looking for a bag that looks like that “celine one” for less than a simple meal in Friday’s, but at the same time there are the women that shops at Bergdorf Goodman or Saks and goes with no shame after what H&M has to offer. 

Now they have another story to tell, recently they open a new concept store called “& other stories” , a Higher end store where you can find from basics , to suits, shoes, handbags and eve makeup, with a story behind each piece, something more detailed and complicated that the things you’ll find in a regular h&m store. For now people from Europe can get the first collection on www.stories.com and for the rest of us, well, wait for it to come, for now we can enjoy the page and this video.

H&M es popular por ese amor a la moda rápida, barata y fácil de usar,con sus enormes tiendas en las ciudades más importantes del mundo, su meta es difundir la moda como una hermosa plaga, y cada año con diseñadores famosos que contribuyen a ella. También son conocidos por los clientes que van a sus tiendas, los cuales son cualquier ser humano que esté cerca a una de sus tiendas, me refieroa que desde el turista de poco presupuesto que busca una cartera que se parezca a la de Celine pero no le cueste más que un especial de Friday’s y al mismo tiempo, mujeres de sociedad que compran en Bergdorf Goodman y Saks no tienen ningún problema en ir a buscar prendas que la tienda tiene para ellas.

Ahora H&M tiene una historia que contar, recientemente abrieron una nueva tienda llamada “& other stories” (y otras historias) ,donde encontramos prendas de lujo: desde básicos hasta trajes, zapatos, carteras y hasta maquillaje, cada uno con una historia detrás de ella, algo un poco mas detallado y complicado a lo que se encuentra en una tienda de H&M común. Por ahora sólo los clientes de Europa tienen el poder de adquirir estas piezas, para el resto de nosotros nos queda con esperar, y por ahora antojarse en la página www.stories.com y de este video promocionando su primera coleccion.

Maryam Kordbacheh {The fragile Formation}

I love designers who challenge the silouethe, because draping is not always about fitting the body shape but to defy space. Maryam Kordbacheh is a Dutch Fashion designer that goes beyond the plain pattern making and make them a complex sculpture , maybe is difficult to understand as a garment, but isn't that the grace of creation?, and for me every dress is a piece of art that is trying to tell a love story , the most beautiful thing about the collections is that Kordbacheh is a perfect balance between poetry and technique, she let go the flow of the intimate body covered by sculptural forms.

Amo aquellos diseñadores que desafían la silueta del cuerpo, porque drapear no siempre trata de acoplarse al cuerpo, en cambia desafía al espacio. Maryam Kordbacheh es una diseñadora holandesa que va mas allá de los patrones planos y lo convierte en esculturas complejas, puede ser difícil de entender como prenda, pero no es esa la gracia de la creación?, y para mi cada vestido es una pieza de arte que esta contando una historia de amor , lo mas hermoso de las colecciones es que Kordbacheh es el punto medio entre poesía y técnica, deja ir la corriente de la intimidad del cuerpo cubierto de formas esculturales

Flowers on winter {Inspiration}

….the winter is still here, white and silent as it should be, and this pink and loud thing, coming and making me so uncomfortable , is not that I don't enjoy to celebrate love, is just that I don't have a reason to be spending so much effort in showing someone that I love him by getting big and expensive presents, and love is not what it used to be, I just believe in love from old movies, love from sailors coming from war and their lovely wives waiting for them . My inspiration above valentines and love is about the silent winter falling apart and the flowers opening their way for spring 


El invierno sigue aquí, blanco y silencioso como debe ser, y esta cosa rosada y bulliciosa se acerca a mi y me pone un poco incomoda, no es que no disfrute celebrar que existe el amor, es solo que no encuentro una razón para estar mostrando mucho esfuerzo en demostrar a alguien que lo quiero dandole regalos, para mi el amor es como los de las películas viejas, el amor de los marines que llegan de la guerra y sus esposas los esperan ansiosamente. Mi inspiración mas que del día de San Valentin es mas sobre las pequeñas flores que se hacen camino mientras el frío invierno se va desapareciendo.

I know black will always be my color, I'm learning now to use some colors, and to be ok with it , I'm going to start to get some light color in my life (for me light colors are some sort of black for spring and summer) , and now that the winter is apparently over is time to be ready for spring (my first spring btw) so here is one of the more colorful couture collection of the season inspired by a photograph of iconic model Lisa Fonssagrives on a beach ,these are my favorite 3 , the entire collection here.


Y aunque siempre será negro mi color favorito, estoy aprendiendo a usar colores, y en cierto modo a aceptarlos, estoy empezando a usar colores pasteles en mi vida ( he decidido que los colores pasteles serán mi negro para primavera y verano), y como al parecer el invierno ya se acabo es tiempo de darle paso a la primavera (que por cierto va a ser mi primera vez). Esta es una de las colecciones mas coloridas de las pasarelas de alta costura, la inspiración fue una fotografía de la modelo Lisa Fonssagrives en la playa, acá estan mi 3 favoritos, si quieren ver la colección completa, click aquí
