Blank spaces & illustrative clothing {Elvira 't Hart}
Its amazing when a dress colors outside the lines, and well, Elvira T Hart, literally did that!.She took the process of converting 2d into 3d by using sketches as patterns, the garment is constructed as a game between negative and positive spaces like in sketches.
" drawing doesn't have to be finished or complete to give the viewer an idea of what is depicted. "

Maryam Kordbacheh {The fragile Formation}
I love designers who challenge the silouethe, because draping is not always about fitting the body shape but to defy space. Maryam Kordbacheh is a Dutch Fashion designer that goes beyond the plain pattern making and make them a complex sculpture , maybe is difficult to understand as a garment, but isn't that the grace of creation?, and for me every dress is a piece of art that is trying to tell a love story , the most beautiful thing about the collections is that Kordbacheh is a perfect balance between poetry and technique, she let go the flow of the intimate body covered by sculptural forms.

132 5. {Issey Miyake}
132 5. by Issey Miyake from Dezeen on Vimeo.
The idea of re-design and re-creation has been on great designers mind lately, nowadays I remember when my teachers from fashion school used to tell me that the shape of the body was constructed by some rules of proportions and lengths …well I think that´s rubbish, and this collection is one big example that the construction of a garment is not a pre-stablished process.
"The process by which the clothing is made is groundbreaking, using a mathematical algorithm: first, a variety of three-dimensional shapes are conceived in collaboration with a computer scientist; then, these shapes are folded into two dimensional forms with pre-set cutting lines that determine their finished shape; and finally, they are heat-pressed, to yield folded shirts, skirts, dresses etc. "
long story short, Myake and his team had shown that the process of pattern making and developing is more that just following rules ,innovating with what is already established.
This label is now nominated for Design of the year award 2012
once again here's a proof that design is more that sequins and expensive fabrics.

The t/shirt issue {by mashallah.design}
"THREE PEOPLE ARE PORTRAYED DIGITALLY BY SCANNING THEIR BODIES. THE OUTPUT OF THIS SCAN IS A 3D FILE, WHICH RESOLUTION IS DEFINED BY THE AMOUNT OF POLYGONS. LINKED WITH THEIR BIOGRAPHICAL MEMORIES A DIGITAL TWIN OF THE BODY IS THUS CREATED, WHICH EXPANDS AND PERSONIFIES THE GARMENT IN A FORMAL POETIC WAY."
The new cut:
This is a whole new way to see the body and to be conscious about the negative spaces. one of the first things that i learned when i started painting, I was being aware of the negative spaces,and how those spaces could be a major contribution to the composition . Then, when I started to do pattern making the idea was different, I had to be aware of the body itself without thinking about what its around.Now the mixture of negative and positive,and the "geometrization" of the body leaves a whole new world of options, now the new shapes are more that just long shoulders or ¾ sleeves. New designers bring this new idea of pattern making and amaze us with the concept. Very inspiring and amazing

InAisce {designer}

(fashionologyv2.weebly.com)
(http://www.inaisce.com/)
InAisce which means "in vain" in Gaelic is the work of a designer based out of New York, Jona. The silouethe of the garments are geometrical and brings the idea of a new shape of the body, becoming close to an extension of it. He redefines the structure and construction of the clothing, he gives meaning to the smallest detail on each of one, also taking high importance to the fabrics and the combination of each one.
"Jona embodies InAisce, because he’s as one with his garments. His garments are his body, his body is his work – his faces says it all, which is a manifesto." (fashionologyv2.weebly.com)
